    We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor with a thorough understanding of employment law and excellent communication skills on behalf of a Kettering-based manufacturing company.

    This is an interesting and varied role, and the successful applicant will act as the first point of contact for employee relations, guiding and supporting managers with all matters relating to employee relations such as disciplinaries, performance management, employment tribunals, grievances and absence management. You’ll ensure fair and consistent procedures and policies are being followed, in line with employment law and company policies.

    This is a 12 month fixed-term contract. Due to business requirements, applicants must be available immediately or within two weeks’ notice.

     

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Delivering guidance and advice on all ER matters (disciplinary, grievance, absence, ill-health, performance capability, substance misuse etc)
    • Providing managers with support on employee concerns, ensuring all cases are managing effectively and in-line with relevant policies and legislation
    • Taking ownership of all HR policies, ensuring they are kept up to date and are user friendly, in line with changes to business needs and legislation
    • Up-skilling managers through training coaching and development on all areas of employee relations
    • Supporting managers in achieving absence KPIs and owning absence reporting
    • Producing and/or updating manager guidelines and support information to aid self-service
    • Contributing to employee change programmes within the business
    • Working with Unions to develop employee relations practices.

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Significant experience of managing ER cases within a similar role
    • In-depth knowledge of employment law
    • Experience of attending tribunals
    • Relevant HR/Employment law qualification would be preferred
    • Able to communicate in a friendly, professional and effective way (both verbally and in writing)
    • IT proficient, and able to use Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and databases
    • Confident with daily decision making
    • Takes a proactive approach to problem solving and identifying a speedy resolution
    • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset
    • Able to work to tight timescales
    • Excellent attention to detail as well as strong organizational and planning skills with both familiar and new tasks.

     

    Hours of work:

    • Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm or 8.30am – 4.30pm with 1-hour lunch – 35 hour week
    • Role can be full or part time hours with flexibility

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • Up to £35,000
