Job description:
A 12-month fixed-term contract has become available for an enterprising and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Site Supervisor to join a leading educational establishment in Corby.
The successful applicant will be responsible, under the direction of the Site Manager, for the maintenance and security of the premises and site, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
Salary: £24,150
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10.30am – 6.00pm each day
As Facilities & Maintenance Site Supervisor, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring the building is fit for purpose, ensuring all agreed procedures and checks are followed rigorously
- Following health and safety regulations, identifying and reporting serious hazards immediately
- Keeping accurate records relating to H&S, maintenance and security
- Providing prompt support in maintaining the building and grounds to a high standard
- Arranging emergency repairs or commissioning and overseeing specialist contractors where appropriate
- Undertaking general portage duties including moving furniture and equipment, and deliveries
- Supervision of the site team in the absence of the Site Manager
- Contributing to contingency arrangements to respond to any unforeseen or unplanned circumstances
- Transporting on a school minibus staff and/or pupils (if fully accredited and licensed)
- Operating and maintaining of specialised equipment following training, for example swimming pools and sports/theatrical equipment
- Providing ad hoc informal training on health and safety issues to other staff
- Act as a designated key holder, providing out of hours and emergency access to the school site
We’re looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Site Supervisor with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role involving facilities and maintenance responsibilities
- Prior experience of carrying out maintenance tasks as well as safety checks such as alarm testing, PAT testing and minor repairs would be beneficial
- Confident level of IT proficiency; able to use MS Word and Outlook
- Prepared to be a key holder who is on a call out list for premises matters
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates a friendly, professional, helpful and positive “can-do” approach to any task
- Enjoys working both collaboratively as part of a team, and independently
- Full UK driving licence
