    Job description:

    A busy local business are looking for a well-organised Rental Fleet Controller to join their friendly team on a temporary basis.

    The successful candidate will perform an essential role in maintaining the company’s hire fleet, and will liaise with both customers and suppliers to ensure that the rental experience is operated as smoothly as possible.

    Applications must be available to interview before Christmas and start the assignment in early January. This is a temporary assignment with an anticipated duration of 12 weeks, with potential for the role to eventually develop into a permanent opportunity.

     

    Hours of work

    • Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm each day with a 1 hour lunch break
    • Office-based

     

    Salary and benefits:

    • £11.79 per hour
    • 20 days’ annual leave (+ bank holidays) – this will increase to 25 days’ (+ bank holiday) if the role progresses into a permanent opportunity

     

    As Rental Fleet Controller, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Answering calls and handling incoming enquiries
    • Monitoring mailboxes for breakdowns and assessing each customer’s requirements
    • Managing ongoing breakdowns and repairs on the rental fleet
    • Ensuring that the hire fleet is always fully compliant so that customers’ operator’s licences are kept in line and that off-hired vehicles are made ready to rent
    • Completing any required documentation throughout the rental process including hire paperwork
    • Processing supplier invoices and managing purchase orders
    • Engaging with external service providers and maintain strong working relationships
    • Reporting and tracking progress of vehicles that are in the workshop and updating customers accordingly
    • Processing recharges to ensure all opportunities are captured
    • Conducting in and out checks on HGVs and trailers
    • Maximising revenue for all hire fleet whilst reviewing costs
    • Updating hire systems and spreadsheets

     

    We’re looking for a Rental Fleet Controller with the following skills and experience:

    • Extensive experience in a similar senior administrative role is essential, ideally within the rental/HGV/automotive sector or with responsibilities for fleet management
    • Knowledge and/or an interest in vehicles
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • A good understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
    • Portrays enthusiasm, passion, and the ambition to learn and develop.
    • Takes a positive, proactive approach
    • Attention to detail
    • IT proficient, with good knowledge of MS Office
