Job description:
Our client, a successful UK SME manufacturing organisation, is seeking an Accounts Administrator for a maternity contract for a duration of one year. The role will be reporting into the Management Accountant where you will be joining a small friendly team and assisting with transactional accounting, HR administration and project work.
This role would suit someone methodical and highly organised who can work on their own as well as a team player in a busy working environment. Please note that you will need to be immediately available for this role.
Hours:
- Full time hours 8.15am – 5.00pm (1-hour lunch) Monday to Friday / part time hours 30-35 (5 days per week)
Salary and benefits:
- £26,000 – £28,000 dependent upon experience full time or pro-rata part-time
- 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

Duties and responsibilities:
- Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
- Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
- Process business expense returns
- Assistance with setting up payment run
- Weekly wage reconciliation
- Liaison with external payroll bureau
- Bank reconciliations
- Recording of holidays /sickness
- Updating private health care policy information
- Project work – maintenance of HR records
- Project work – reviewing of stock system and updating from manual system
Skills and experience required:
- AAT studier or QBE
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience within an accounting role with general administration experience
- Good working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s)
- Numerate with a good eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
