Job description:
We’re looking for an skilled Operations Manager on behalf of a thriving FMCG business, known for supplying an exciting range of high-quality products to major retailers.
The successful candidate will ensure that the business processes run smoothly and that any problems are identified and resolved as quickly as possible. This is a truly varied and interesting role involving (but not limited to) responsibilities covering office administration, procurement and purchasing, supplier management, stock control, and logistics.You’ll manage a cohesive and collaborative team of three and demonstrate excellent leadership and coaching skills.
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary and benefits:
- £35,000 – £40,000
- Free parking
As Operations Manager, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring all orders are processed in a timely manner and stock levels are sufficient and accurate
- Engaging with new supplier accounts, obtaining quotes, attending meetings and building strong business relationships with suppliers
- Management and leadership of the Supply Chain Administrator, Operations Assistant and Admin Assistant
- Reviewing processes to ensure all aspects of administration and business support are operating as efficiently as possible, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing new procedures where needed
- Collecting and analysing data to track the efficiency of the department, creating reports where requested and delivering updates at director level
- Ensuring all relevant legislation is adhered to such as health and safety and industry-specific best practice
We’re looking for an Operations Manager with the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar role involving a variety of operations coordination responsibilities and liaison with suppliers within an FMCG environment
- IT proficient, with advanced level knowledge of Excel, a good understanding of Outlook and Word, and the ability to learn and adapt to new software quickly
- Demonstrates excellent commercial acumen, with strong analytical and numerical abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Well-organised and able to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Takes a positive, problem-solving approach to finding solutions
- Confident, personable and supportive leadership skills
- Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
