    Job description:

    We’re looking for an experienced Senior Development Officer to effectively line manage the Course Approval Team and develop processes and systems for Tailored Course Approval.

    The successful applicants will ensure that an exceptional service is delivered by responding promptly to incoming enquiries via telephone and email, as well as carrying out a variety of clerical duties.

     

    What you can expect:

    • £28,500 – £36,000 plus discretionary bonus and annual salary reviews
    • 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, 35 hour working week

    As Senior Development Officer, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Managing the development of any new quality assurance standards and processes in relation to Tailored Course Approval
    • Providing advice and guidance on the company tailored course approval service
    • Reviewing learning content against company standards and criteria.
    • Deciding on whether to approve or reject learning content based on criteria (including the quality of the training, content accuracy, strategic fit and need)
    • Writing succinct reports that objectively detail why the company has decided to approve or reject an application
    • Leading standardisation exercises to ensure rejection and approval decisions are consistent across the team
    • Developing training standards and quality processes to support the development of company products
    • Developing learning outcomes, assessment criteria and prescribed content for courses
    • Working with stakeholders to develop, maintain and promote standards to support the company strategy
    • Identifying methods to bring efficiencies across the TCA function
    • Identifying new income streams, which can be implemented via the TCA function
    • Contributing to reports regarding service levels, and other business measures including income

     

    We’re looking for a Senior Development Officer with the following skills and experience:

    • An up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety practice is desirable
    • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant training and learning best practice
    • An understanding of auditing principles and how to apply them to the assessment of learning content
    • Report writing skills with a high standard of written English
    • Experience of working with external stakeholders to develop and maintain quality assurance standards and processes
    • Managing a team is desirable
    • Educated to GCSE Level, having a minimum of 5 x GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English and Maths
    • Level 3 qualification (or above/or equivalent experience) in safety and health is desirable
    • Level 3 (or above/or equivalent experience) qualification in training, teaching or education is desirable
