    Job description:

    We are pleased to be supporting a growing legal practice with their recruitment of an experienced Legal Cashier.

    In this role you will be reporting to the Finance & Compliance Manager and working closely with fee earners to process finance transactions and ensure the smooth running of the department.

     

    • £30,000 dependent upon experience
    • Working hours Monday to Friday 9am–5pm (1 hour lunch) 35 hour working week

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Processing Bills and associated schedules
    • Dealing with all day-to-day ledger postings to client and office accounts
    • Reconciling bank, petty cash and general ledgers and control accounts
    • Producing monthly reports to all fee earners
    • Processing purchase ledger invoices and payments
    • Processing payments and transfers daily via an online banking system
    • Working with fee earners to ensure matter balances are kept accurate and up to date
    • Assisting with month end and year-end reports
    • General administration and housekeeping of files and ledgers
    • Supporting audits
    • Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules

     

    Skills and experience required:

    • Minimum of 2 years’ previous Legal Cashier experience within a legal practice
    • Attention to detail is key to being successful within this role
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to work effectively on own initiative
    • Good understanding of SRA accounts rules and regulations
    • Good working Microsoft Office (Excel / Word) and experience of legal software (Redbrick / Insight)
