Our MD Eloise had been managing successful recruitment teams for many years when she realised that corporate recruitment had become less about the people and businesses involved, and more like a numbers game.
She was confident that there was a better way, so in 2005 she took the leap and created Vanilla Recruitment. Since then, Vanilla has grown organically year on year. From starting out offering only generalist office recruitment, to now having a unified team delivering unique recruitment solutions across our specialist disciplines: Marketing, Accountancy & Finance, HR, Office.

The impact of your job on your life is huge. The majority of us spend more of our time at work than any other place. We also know how much time and money is invested in employees, and how a business is only as good as the people within it.
With this in mind, we sat down as a team and discussed our role as recruiters in great detail. What are the expectations and the unique wants and needs of the client, the business owner, the manager; or the candidate, the jobseeker and the person looking for work for a multitude of reasons absolutely unique to themselves.
Our mission, vision and values are the reason we do this and at the core of everything we do here at Vanilla. We want to work with people who share our values, so when you work with us these Vanilla values will form the basis of our hopefully long and successful partnership together.

Sarah is by far one of the best recruiters, if not, the best recruiter that I've worked with in my 10+ years. Having moved from London to Corby with high expectations, Sarah was able to thoroughly understand my background and my very specific requirements for a new role after a 2-year maternity leave gap. She is transparent and realistic with salaries and details of the roles itself (the good and the ugly). She didn't allow me to crumble when I wanted to, but instead represented me at my highest value to her clients. Unlike most recruiters, Sarah's focus is solely on the wellbeing of the candidates experience and putting their needs first (rather than that commission). “I was contacted by Jodie after submitting my CV with interest to obtain some temporary work. Jodie was really thorough in asking questions and I felt like she really listened to my specific requirements. During the few months I was on her books, she contacted me with relevant assignments that fitted my travel criteria and hours. I was never spammed or forced into interviewing for a role just for the sake of it.Jodie came to visit the client where I was working and took time out to meet me - and brought me a gift! That was so touching.I’ve only had really positive experiences with Jodie even when I was placed in a fixed term contract with an assignment she found for me. She kept in touch and made sure that everything was going smoothly and offered her help and expertise on a couple of HR issues I had. I never once felt like just a number on her books. I even received another set of gifts to say good luck with my new role! Everyone at the office was like ‘what kind of temp agency is this?!?!’ LOLThey’ve obviously never seen such a thing.
